Overview

Villa Violet is a pleasant and modest guest house located at 48 Ziegler Street in a quiet, residential neighbourhood of Windhoek. The location provides guests with a peaceful and convenient stop-over in the capital, ideal for connecting with international flights, and only a short drive from town centre conveniences.

This charming B&B is set on a small, walled lot, providing security and seclusion, with secure parking behind electronic gates. The main buildings surround a picturesque courtyard and garden with a small pool and sun loungers. Inside, it is brightly but simply decorated, with a cosy lounge containing cheerful furnishings and pleasant features. In the morning, a buffet-style continental breakfast is served in the well-lit dining room, and whilst no evening meals are offered, there is an open plan kitchen area for self-service catering, complete with honesty bar, and an outdoor BBQ area for those who wish to rustle something up in the sun. Villa Violet’s owners are also more than happy to recommend and book any of the fabulous restaurants nearby, and guests are welcome to use the dining room when ordering in. Complimentary tea and coffee is served throughout the day and friendly and efficient staff offer professional yet warm service.

The bedrooms have a clean and comfortable feel with simple, contemporary and elegant decor. There are just 5 ensuite rooms, each equipped with double or twin beds. All rooms give onto the central garden and come complete with air conditioning, flat-screen TV, safe, and complimentary WiFi. Laundry and room services are available at additional cost.

Windhoek's primary draw as a location is as an international entry point to Namibia. The town is the economic and cultural centre of the country, and as such, provides facilities to satisfy every modern convenience, including supermarkets, pharmacies, banks, petrol stations, and ATMs. The villa’s proximity to these amenities allows guests to stock up with essentials before beginning self-drive exploration into sparser territories. There are some cultural activities available in the city for guests with a little more time, including the National and Independence Museums on Robert Mugabe Avenue, which provide fascinating insights into the indigenous and colonial histories of this relatively new country. Stores and curio vendors at the Namibia Crafts Centre and Post Street Mall provide some unique shopping opportunities, and restaurants near to the villa offer fantastic culinary experiences, including the famous Joe's Beerhouse.

There are no age restrictions at Villa Violet, and families are welcome. Although there are no specific family rooms, cots can be provided on request. Note that the pool is unfenced, so parental supervision is recommended at all times.

Villa Violet is a simple, pristine and welcoming guesthouse offering fantastic service and a superb central Windhoek location.

  • We had an amazing experience - absolutely loved it.
Mohamed and Said were great and very patient especially with me going downhill - was quite nervous about the scree slopes and paths.

Will be a trip we remember forever

  • Trip was great and all the arrangements were excellent so thank you for all the help!

Drivers and transfers were all good - on time and very good service on each trip.

Accommodation was lovely - Douar Samra was amazing (weather could have been better but lovely regardless). Riad in Marrakesh was also great!

All in all a great trip and we loved the variety of the mountains, Marrakesh and the coast.

    Thanks you once again!
