The Victoria Falls area spectacular year round and this makes for a perfect way to end or start a safari. There are many things to enjoy from cruises on the Zambezi River, Adrenalin activities or visits to local villages to name a few.
The Linyanti Reserve is part of the Great Chobe National park with a variety of private concessions accessed by light aircraft, enjoying game drives, walking and water activities (subject to water levels)
Okavango Delta is a bird watchers paradise but this wet land area has a surprising amount of pockets of big game. Depending on the camp location and water levels, you will explore the waterways by vehicle, boat, on foot and traditional dug out canoe (mekoro)
There is literally something for everyone in Botswana, this itinerary ends with the extraordinary salt pans of the Makgadikgadi. There are a variety of activities from drives on the pans, seasonal quad biking, bushman experience and meerkat interaction.
DAY 1: VICTORIA FALLS
On arrival at Livingstone Airport, you will be met and transferred by road to your lodge. Afternoon to relax and perhaps enjoy a cruise on the Zambezi River.

DAY 2: VICTORIA FALLS
This morning I would suggest you visit the Victoria Falls and explore Livingstone Town, returning to the lodge for lunch and perhaps an afternoon river cruise.

DAY 3: VICTORIA FALLS
Today you could enjoy a guided canoe trail (depending on water levels), a picnic lunch on islands in the Zambezi River with guided walk, fishing, a game drives in the Mosi-oa-Tunya National Park, walk in the gorge bellow the Victoria Falls, a local village visits or mountain bike trail to local village.

DAY 4: LINYANTI
Two hour road and boat transfer to Kasane Airport for light aircraft flight into the Linyanti.
On arrival you will have time to relax and settle into camp. The guide will take the children to meet the camp staff and start with an educational walk around the camp showing them trees, plants, birds and animal/bird tracks and signs.
First game drive with the guide showing children how the species check list works and the all important binoculars. You will have a private vehicle so you can go out at your leisure for the duration your children are comfortable with.
Return to the lodge for dinner and hot cocoa around the fire to enjoy star gazing and taking a torch to find some night time creatures around camp.

DAY 5: LINYANTI
Early morning activity and start to gather some items for the art project. After brunch make a conservation poster and begin the survival skills course, from making fire with sticks, using a traditional bow and arrow and fish trap.
Late afternoon activity, perhaps stoping to see some local subsistence fishermen or trying to catch some fish.
Return to the camp for dinner and movie night with popcorn and the Joubert's National Geographic documentaries.

DAY 6: LINYANTI
Early morning activity and continue bush skills course putting the tracking skills into practise in the field.
After brunch, children are encouraged to share the conservation message with a new pen pal. And enjoy a tour of the back of house bio gas and solar systems work.
Late afternoon game drive and dinner in camp, perhaps learning to cook on the open fire. The guide will present children with their certificate and graduate as a conservation ambassador.

DAY 7: OKAVANGO DELTA
Light aircraft flight into the Okavango Delta.

Light aircraft flight to the Makgadikgadi. From about the middle of April to end of October you can enjoy quad biking across the salt pans. In the green season from November to mid April there is the second largest zebra and wildebeest migration in Africa.

DAY 11: MAKGADIKGADI
Pre-dawn wake up to head out to the meerkat burrow to catch them as they come out to warm up in the morning sun and start to interact with each other. Leave the meerkats as they head our on their foraging expedition and return to the camp for lunch.

This unique area offers walks with Zu/’hoasi Bushmen for a rare insight into this once nomadic tribe, their knowledge of plants, animal behaviour and survival skills in this arid landscape

This option is based on arriving into Victoria Falls and ending in Maun or v.v which both accessed via Johannesburg. Kenya Airways and some Middle Eastern carriers are expanding with flights into Livingstone. There are also connections from neighboring Namibian and from Lusaka the capital of Zambian.

This itinerary is possible year round, peak times are from about May until the end of October, which is the best time for game viewing and viewing the Falls with medium - high water levels.
This option is an excellent choice for couples and families.
Tongabezi has a beautiful location on the banks of the Zambezi River with many activities to enjoy from the lodge. There are hotels in Livingstone town which means you will be closer to the entrance of the Falls and they usually have lovely gardens and pools for children to enjoy.
Selinda Camps accepts children from the age of 6, there is a family room and a private vehicle is required, which allows you to venture out for the duration you prefer.
Young Explorers is a comfortable private camping experience in the Okavango Delta with guides who enjoy being in the bush and sharing their knowledge with children, children from the age of 7 years accepted.
Camp Kalahari has a family room and accepts children of all ages. Children under the age of 6 years will be required to take a private vehicle for the family.
All safari lodges reserve to the right assess children's behaviour on arrival to ensure their safety on activities. There is no child care or children's activities available and they are your responsibility at all times.
