Overview

Located in the Onguma Private Game Reserve, this Old-World safari-style camp acts as a great base from which to explore the Etosha National Park and as a great spot from which to observe one of the most vibrant wildlife areas in Namibia. Whilst Onguma's other properties in the area do not allow children, Bush Camp goes out of its way to be family-friendly with suitable accommodation and fences surrounding the property.

There is an emphasis on family here. The staff are very friendly to children, and make sure they have a great time whilst also ensuring their parents achieve their own safari experience. There are 3 loft rooms and one family room that ensure parents and children are accommodated in adjourning rooms sharing the bathroom. Sometimes, families can arrange for private game drives in addition to the regular program.

Activities revolve around the camp’s great location near Etosha National Park. Guests can go on morning and afternoon guided game drives in Etosha, home to Big Five game, a variety of mongoose and wildebeest among others, and endangered species such as the black rhino. Birdwatching is also good here, with over 340 species of bird such as flamingo, Bare-cheeked babbler, and eagles commonly sighted. There are opportunities for guests to participate in Onguma sunset drives as well as interpretive bush walks.

Guest accommodation at Onguma Bush Camp consists of 16 rooms, each with en-suite facilities and views of the waterhole.

The complex is fenced, and features a Games Room ideal for children as well as an outdoor pool. Interpretive game walks provide children with a fun and educational experience of the surrounding bushveld. No children under the age of 10 years are permitted on game drives, and no children under the age of 16 years are allowed to attend bush walks.

  • We had an amazing experience - absolutely loved it.
Mohamed and Said were great and very patient especially with me going downhill - was quite nervous about the scree slopes and paths.

Will be a trip we remember forever

  • Trip was great and all the arrangements were excellent so thank you for all the help!

Drivers and transfers were all good - on time and very good service on each trip.

Accommodation was lovely - Douar Samra was amazing (weather could have been better but lovely regardless). Riad in Marrakesh was also great!

All in all a great trip and we loved the variety of the mountains, Marrakesh and the coast.

    Thanks you once again!
