Overview

Offering front-row seats to one of the most beautiful views in South Africa, perched atop the slopes of Lion’s Head in Cape Town, Ellerman House is a luxurious boutique hotel showcasing South Africa’s finest art, cuisine, and leisure. Closed off to the public, guests here enjoy a truly private space overlooking the most sought-after area in the country.

Guest accommodation at Ellerman House is comprised of 13 bedrooms and two three-bedroom villas. All rooms are en-suite and some have terraces with sea views. The villas, named Villa One and Villa Two, are available on an exclusive-use basis only. They provide spacious entertainment and dining rooms that lead out onto a private deck and pool, making them great for families. Villa Two features a private cinema.

Aside from the private cinema, Ellerman House offers excellent communal facilities and amenities. Guests can enjoy using the gym, relaxing in the spa, swimming in the heated pool, drinking in the bar, chatting to the friendly staff, inspecting the world-class art collection, or reading in the expansive library. This is a superb place to stop by after a long safari, with plenty of space to enjoy the experience comfortably.

Activities at Ellerman are more in line with what you would expect at a luxury hotel. Golf, horse riding, canoeing, fishing, diving, biking, hiking, sailing, and whale watching are just some of the things guests can do in and around the resort. There are also wine, garden, and art tours for guests to attend.

Families will likely fall in love with this resort. Between the fantastic sea-tipped sunset views over the harbour and the tailor-made big family meals, there are plenty of opportunities to explore the surrounding area and spend quality time together in a luxurious setting. Children of all ages are welcome in Villa One, and only children over the age of 14 are welcome in Villa Two.

  • Thank you, we had an absolute wonderful time, and everything was well-planned and as described. Carla was crying on the day of our departure from Ants Nest, she didn’t want to go home and for it all to end, and when I asked how much longer she would want to stay, she responded “four weeks”

  • It was certainly a holiday of a lifetime for us and we loved every minute!! The standard and location of each accommodation was excellent, as was the variety of each different accommodation type. Our schedule was perfect and we managed to achieve everything on our to-do task list. Your documents were also really helpful, as were the driving directions. We all thank you for making this such a wonderful holiday. Happy to leave a review publicly if you point me the right way. Best Steve

  • Hi Lisa, We had a fabulous time thank you. The accommodation and other ideation were all terrific - that’s so much for your help. The apartment in Cape Town was particularly good - we would never have found that: Boschendal was great as well and game lodge was superb. Thanks again, Alistair
