Overview

Victoria Falls Safari Lodge is an upmarket hotel and resort adjacent to Zambezi National Park in the Victoria Falls area of northwest Zimbabwe. This substantial property sits perched on a ridge with spectacular views - it's only 4km from the iconic Victoria Falls, and a few minutes from Victoria Falls town. Set in verdant gardens, the hotel offers 72 rooms and suites, a swimming pool, two restaurants, and a bar with panoramic views. The lodge will appeal to anyone seeking a comfortable and tranquil base with easy access to town and the majestic Falls.

The extensive timber and thatch main building contains a welcoming reception area. Guest areas include a TV lounge and a gift shop. There are two restaurants: MaKuwa Kuwa offers fine dining and an a la carte menu, and has a smart casual dress code. Barbeque and Zimbabwean cuisine are on offer at the more informal Boma Restaurant which regularly hosts lively dinner, dance and drum evenings. The Buffalo Bar is a great venue for a sundowner, and boasts wonderful views over the surrounding bush including a nearby waterhole popular with elephant and buffalo. The onsite spa provides beauty treatments and massages, and there's a generous alfresco pool with loungers. Wi-Fi is available throughout the hotel.

The acommodation comprises 72 rooms and suites. All rooms have double or twin beds draped with mosquito nets, and an ensuite bathroom with a rainfall shower. The split-level suites offer a substantial lounge area plus a mezzanine with bedroom and ensuite bathroom with separate bath and shower. All units come with a minibar, hot drink facilities, air conditioning and ceiling fans. Sliding glass doors lead out onto a private balcony with super views of the national park or the waterhole.

Activities on site include vulture feeding which takes place daily, and wildlife watching at a small hide located beside the lodge’s waterhole. The hotel operates a complimentary shuttle bus to Victoria Falls town centre, where many activities are available from tranquil guided walks and game drives to exhilarating white water rafting and bungee jumping. A helicopter tour of the breath-taking Victoria Falls is an unforgettable experience and not to be missed.

Children of all ages are warmly welcome at the hotel. Infants under three years stay free of charge, and there are reductions for guests under 12 years of age. Several of the larger rooms and suites can accommodate an additional bed for a child. Note that there is a minimum age restriction of 16 years for wildlife viewing at the lodge’s hide. A babysitting service is available, subject to advance arrangement.

  • We had an amazing experience - absolutely loved it.
Mohamed and Said were great and very patient especially with me going downhill - was quite nervous about the scree slopes and paths.

Will be a trip we remember forever

  • Trip was great and all the arrangements were excellent so thank you for all the help!

Drivers and transfers were all good - on time and very good service on each trip.

Accommodation was lovely - Douar Samra was amazing (weather could have been better but lovely regardless). Riad in Marrakesh was also great!

All in all a great trip and we loved the variety of the mountains, Marrakesh and the coast.

    Thanks you once again!
