EnquireUbuntu Migration Camp is an elegant, semi-permanent camp that moves three times a year across the vast plains of the Serengeti National Park, northern Tanzania, in pursuit of the great wildebeest migration. Settling in three spectacular locations in the heart of dense wildlife concentrations, the camp offers breath-taking scenery and unrivalled predator action. Depending on the camp’s location as it moves around, visitors either drive or fly in to the nearest airstrip.
The camp has a friendly feel, with the main area comprising a simple, open-sided mess tent with comfortable lounge and dining spaces and impressive views of the surrounding wilderness. There is a small bar and library, a tea and coffee station, and a fire-pit in the evenings. Facilities in such a genuinely wild location are simple but comfortable and the service is good.
The Serengeti offers solid year-round game viewing and the camp’s varied locations present optimum viewing opportunities with expert guides on hand. There is a firm focus on game drives, with guests sharing vehicles. Modern convenience is not lost in this wild setting, with all of the camp’s 4x4s fitted with cold drinks fridges and power points for recharging devices. Depending on the location, balloon safaris can be arranged and when the camp is in the north (July – October), trips to nearby villages are possible and visitors can learn about the traditional way of life of the local Kuria people.
The accommodation comprises seven pristine canvas tents, complete with king-sized beds (twin formation available) and en-suite bathrooms with hot water safari bucket showers and flushing toilets. A family tent is included, with a king-sized bed, two singles and en-suite bathroom.
The camp welcomes children aged five and over and whilst there is no particular children’s programme or personal guides, staff will prepare child-friendly food and arrange earlier meal times if required. Note that animals are free to wander through the camp and whilst they are unlikely to approach humans or tents, children must be under parental supervision at all times and those under the age of 12 are required to share a room with an adult.
Ubuntu is a simple, unpretentious camp offering an unwavering safari focus, warm and generous hospitality, and good value for money. It’s a great choice for those looking for a traditional bush-camp experience with spectacular wildlife on tap.

Trip was great and all the arrangements were excellent so thank you for all the help!
Drivers and transfers were all good - on time and very good service on each trip.
Accommodation was lovely - Douar Samra was amazing (weather could have been better but lovely regardless). Riad in Marrakesh was also great!
All in all a great trip and we loved the variety of the mountains, Marrakesh and the coast.
Thanks you once again!
