Overview

Concealed within the canopy of the Moremi Game Reserve, and in an area renowned for its spectacular game-viewing, Camp Moremi provides a fantastic base from which to observe the diverse wildlife that migrate to the Okavango Delta. Being a National Park, the area can be busy with game vehicle traffic, but the density of wildlife in this area more than compensates.

The Xakanaxa area is home to prides of lion, leopard, and cheetah not seen in such numbers elsewhere, as well as herds of elephant that graze nearby. It consists of vast open grassland, riverine habitats, seasonal floodplains, and Mopane forests: Camp Moremi is positioned right in the middle of it all. Guests can explore the plains by Land Cruisers and the Xakanaxa Lagoon or surrounding Okavango channels by motorboat. The waters attract diverse bird species, so guests can expect to be afforded exceptional bird-watching opportunities.

Much like a bird-watching hide itself, Camp Moremi conceals itself among the rich foliage of Africa’s Ebony trees. Its lodge is thatched and built from timber, and is elevated to offer guests the best possible vantage point over the Xanakaxana Lagoon without having to climb a nearby tree. A wildlife reference library and lavish cocktail bar make up the rest of the lodge, whilst individually plated starters and desserts, and buffet-style main courses, are served under an Ebony canopy in the dining room. Breakfast, brunch, and high tea can be savoured in a thatched boma, and nightcaps beside a fire pit. A swimming pool in which guests can enjoy total seclusion compliments the Camp’s retreat nature.

Camp Moremi can accommodate a maximum of 24 guests at any one time in its 12 raised-platform and luxurious custom-style safari tents. All rooms offer superb bush views from their private teak viewing decks, and include twin beds with en-suite bathrooms. The Camp offers one family unit, which consists of two inter-leading bedrooms and en-suite bathrooms with the same exceptional viewing decks as the other safari tents. Families with children between the ages of 6 and 11 must book private activities at an additional cost, and only children over the age of 6 years are welcome. Families that enjoy tranquillity will get the most out of Camp Moremi.

  • We had an amazing experience - absolutely loved it.
Mohamed and Said were great and very patient especially with me going downhill - was quite nervous about the scree slopes and paths.

Will be a trip we remember forever

  • Trip was great and all the arrangements were excellent so thank you for all the help!

Drivers and transfers were all good - on time and very good service on each trip.

Accommodation was lovely - Douar Samra was amazing (weather could have been better but lovely regardless). Riad in Marrakesh was also great!

All in all a great trip and we loved the variety of the mountains, Marrakesh and the coast.

    Thanks you once again!
