Overview

Tucked away in the side streets of Stone Town and only a short walk to the sea front, the Zanzibar Palace Hotel has been lovingly restored by a Dutch couple. With just 9 rooms set over three floors, this boutique hotel offers fantastic service in a charming and unique setting.

Each room has been individually decorated with a fusion of Arabic and Indian styles and is furnished with high quality fittings, many of which are antique. Despite the traditional feel of the hotel, the rooms all come with air-conditioning, fans, and mod cons including cable TV and DVD. There are 2 luxury rooms, 5 suites and 2 luxury top floor palace suites, one of which has an open air bathroom on the rooftop. Less suitable for younger or larger families, this is a perfect choice for a couple travelling with an older child looking to stay somewhere sophisticated. For families the Grand Suite Kijani (double bed + wide single bed), Grand Suite Shaba (double bed + wide single bed) and Palace Suite Sherali (double bed) are a good option. And for those wanting separate room they are all in close proximity and can be divided up on one floor.

Hotel services include a restaurant (superb dinner available by prior arrangement), an Arabic lounge bar, internet service, and 24 hour room service.

  • We had an amazing experience - absolutely loved it.
Mohamed and Said were great and very patient especially with me going downhill - was quite nervous about the scree slopes and paths.

Will be a trip we remember forever

  • Trip was great and all the arrangements were excellent so thank you for all the help!

Drivers and transfers were all good - on time and very good service on each trip.

Accommodation was lovely - Douar Samra was amazing (weather could have been better but lovely regardless). Riad in Marrakesh was also great!

All in all a great trip and we loved the variety of the mountains, Marrakesh and the coast.

    Thanks you once again!
