Overview

Gomoti Plains Camp is situated on the edge of the Gomoti river system.

Accommodation consists of ten spacious safari tents, two of which are family units. The tents are on decking with a private verandah looking toward the seasonally flowing Gomoti River. Bathrooms are en-suite, complete with inside and outside showers, double vanity basin and flush toilets. Limited electricity is available in the tents, allowing for lighting and camera charging.

An open sided tent houses the lounge and dining area - classic and comfortable - welcoming all guests. Dinner can be enjoyed under the stars or more intimately under canvas. Inviting white sand leads from the main tent to the campfire and to the meandering river beyond.

With free movement between Moremi Game Reserve and the private concession, this area is known for its large concentrations of wildlife, which thrive on the Gomoti plains and waterways. Activities include day and night game drives, walking safaris with an armed guide and mokoro excursions.

Night drives are conducted in the early evening offering one a chance to see the smaller more nocturnal animals using a spotlight. Walking safaris are generally conducted in the morning with armed guides. Walking is weather dependent, or dependent on the condition of the terrain.

Mokoro excursions take place in the mornings or longer day trips can be arranged, and are water level dependant.

Gomoti Plains welcomes families, with a family tent and kids welcome on game drives (depending on age, an upgrade to a private vehicle may be required). Min age for Mokoro is 12 years and bush walks 16 years old. The Family Tent Sleeps 4 with One double bed and Two singles beds and En-suite Bathroom. It is important to note this is a wild area and the camp is unfenced from wild animals. So it is imperative that children are well behaved and kept under supervision at all times.

  • We had an amazing experience - absolutely loved it.
Mohamed and Said were great and very patient especially with me going downhill - was quite nervous about the scree slopes and paths.

Will be a trip we remember forever

  • Trip was great and all the arrangements were excellent so thank you for all the help!

Drivers and transfers were all good - on time and very good service on each trip.

Accommodation was lovely - Douar Samra was amazing (weather could have been better but lovely regardless). Riad in Marrakesh was also great!

All in all a great trip and we loved the variety of the mountains, Marrakesh and the coast.

    Thanks you once again!
