EnquireSerene tropical gardens, gorgeous views over the Chao Phraya River and a signature spa make the Shangri-La one of the most relaxing places to stay in hectic Bangkok. This hotel combines attentive, warm Thai service and a luxury environment with an excellent location from which to explore Thailand's electric capital city, with many of its iconic attractions just a stones throw away.
The rooms and suites are distinctly modern, with all the hi-tech amenities you could ask for, plush beds and sleek bathrooms with premium Shangri-La toiletries, while nodding to centuries-old Thai heritage with touches of tradition in the furniture and decor. There may be over 800 rooms and suites, but they have an air of tranquility, providing a haven from the hustle and bustle of the city outside, and you can take in lovely city and river views from large windows and private balconies. The irresistible variety of cuisine on offer at several restaurants ranges from gourmet Thai specialties to international fare, so there is something for everyone, as well as numerous restaurants nearby. Try the exceptional Cantonese cuisine at Shang Palace, while at the Salathip restaurant, you can dine on a traditional Thai pavilion by the riverside on a balmy evening as you are entertained by Thai dancing.
Those with a sweet tooth, young and old, will love the Chocolate Boutique, where you can treat yourself to signature chocolate cakes and creative chocolate-themed drinks. If you fancy a drink, there are a number of bars to choose from - we recommend a pre or post-dinner cocktail at the elegant Long Bar, which is something of a local hot spot. With the city on your doorstep, you have Bangkok at your feet, and you can also head out on the water: enjoy a cruise on the hotel's own luxury cruise boat, tucking into a gourmet international buffet as you meander along the Chao Phraya River. This is a lovely way to take in the glittering sights on its banks, such as the Grand Palace and Wat Arun (the Temple of Dawn).
After a days sightseeing, pamper yourself in the spa, whose blissful treatments are inspired by traditional techniques, relax in a Jacuzzi or cool off with a swim in the outdoor pool, surrounded by tropical greenery. If you prefer something more active, have a workout with a game of tennis or head to the fitness center and dance studio.
We had an extraordinary time. It was magical and we couldn't hav asked or hoped for more. Thank you both so much for all of your time and assistance.

I would like to say a massive thank you for organising our Vietnam trip. The itinerary and execution were superb, as was the attention to detail. I would also like to thank the agent who was on the end of my whats app chat (I have no idea who they were!) – always available, always quick to respond, and kept me updated regarding times etc. Also, the guides Dan (north) and Tien (mid) were just excellent, and we really enjoyed their company. The lady (whose name I have forgotten) who was our additional guide for the DMZ day was exceedingly good and made that day very special.
