EnquireVilanculos is a laidback, mid-sized town located in Mozambique’s southern Inhambane province. The town has long been one of the country’s leading tourist destinations thanks to its pristine beaches, abundance of outdoor activities and its proximity to the Bazaruto Archipelago, a chain of six beautiful islands known for their superb biodiversity. Of the town’s many accommodation options, Santorini is one of the most eye-catching, drawing inspiration from the Greek island of the same name, which is known for its whitewashed buildings capped with blue domes. This very smart, characterful property lies north of the town centre and offers seclusion along with a really good line-up of outdoor pursuits, a pool and a lovely on-site spa.
There are three accommodation options to choose from, all heavily inspired by the white-and-blue design familiar to many of the Greek islands. The Main Villa is comprised of five uniquely designed separate suites, each of which offers plenty of indoor and outdoor space. A short walk away is The Chapel, which is split into two suites: one is intended for couples and honeymooners, the other for small groups and families. The third option is Villa da Praia, a beachside villa housing three suites. All eight suites are well presented and have ample space, elegant decor and plenty of amenities, not to mention Greek-style furnishings. There’s also an onsite giftshop ‘The Pansy Shell’, which sells a range of locally produced wares, along with useful sundries and the food served at the hotel is very highly regarded in the local area.
There are a number of activities to enjoy in the vicinity. Outdoor pursuits such as paddle boarding, kayaking, fishing and snorkelling are all on offer for no additional charge. Horse riding excursions, dhow safaris, breath-taking helicopter flights and even kite surfing trips can also be arranged. The town of Vilanculos is worth a visit, and nothing beats a leisurely stroll along the beach or a relaxing treatment at the hotel’s very own spa.
The food at Santorini is really good, and the hotel is known locally for its diverse line-up of beautifully-presented dishes made from home-grown ingredients. Dining choices range from formal to informal – there’s a wine cellar and a pizza oven on site, and beach picnics and barbecues can also be arranged.
Families are warmly welcome, and half of the suites will comfortably accommodate parents travelling with their children. There are plenty of age-appropriate activities on offer, from baking and island day trips, to sandboarding, snorkelling, sandcastle making, movie nights (complete with popcorn!) and more. There’s a designated activities room packed with complimentary equipment, and plenty of activities the whole family can take part in together. Chefs provide tasty snacks throughout the day and are more than happy to prepare special meals for younger ones, and to take any preferences into consideration.
We had an extraordinary time. It was magical and we couldn't hav asked or hoped for more. Thank you both so much for all of your time and assistance.

Trip was great and all the arrangements were excellent so thank you for all the help!
Drivers and transfers were all good - on time and very good service on each trip.
Accommodation was lovely - Douar Samra was amazing (weather could have been better but lovely regardless). Riad in Marrakesh was also great!
All in all a great trip and we loved the variety of the mountains, Marrakesh and the coast.
Thanks you once again!
