Overview

Elephant’s Eye is an excellent value small bush camp in a convenient location for Victoria Falls and Livingstone with its own 6000 hectare private concession and access to Hwange National Park.

Elephant’s Eye has 8 chalets raised on decks with thatched roofs and canvas walls. Each chalet has king or twin beds, a wood heater for winter nights, indoor bath, outdoor shower and a private deck. All chalets are spacious, private, and elevated to offer the best views with maximum comfort. Elephant's Eye also features a sleep out deck set high in a tree.

The main area includes separate dining and lounge with a central bar featuring an upstairs viewing deck. The main area looks out onto the boma and the camp’s own waterhole which offers unlimited opportunities to view game drinking and cavorting at close range. The camp’s natural ozone eco–pool provides refreshment during the afternoon and is occasionally enjoyed by visiting elephants.

Activities included at Elephant’s Eye are game drives in Hwange National Park, bird watching, night game drives on the Elephant’s Eye concession, village tours and a visit to the Painted Dog Conservation Centre, all with licensed professional guides. Game walks are available at an additional cost. Game drives in Hwange are typically full day drives with a picnic lunch, game drives on the concession tend to be shorter morning / afternoon drives. The concession itself covers 6000 acres and borders the internationally renowned Hwange National Park, which has is renowned for its large elephant and lion populations. As there are no fences separating the park and the concession, the resident wildlife is free to roam. The plentiful animal sightings can also be attributed to the fact that several boreholes have been established in and around the concession, in partnership with the CWF, so ensure that the wildlife has enough water to sustain them throughout the year.

  • We had an amazing experience - absolutely loved it.
Mohamed and Said were great and very patient especially with me going downhill - was quite nervous about the scree slopes and paths.

Will be a trip we remember forever

  • Trip was great and all the arrangements were excellent so thank you for all the help!

Drivers and transfers were all good - on time and very good service on each trip.

Accommodation was lovely - Douar Samra was amazing (weather could have been better but lovely regardless). Riad in Marrakesh was also great!

All in all a great trip and we loved the variety of the mountains, Marrakesh and the coast.

    Thanks you once again!
