EnquireTamarind Hill is an impeccable, colonial-style boutique offering located just a mile from the historic city of Galle with its attractive buildings, thriving cultural scene and countless places to eat, drink and shop. The property resides in a 19th Century building which once belonged to a British admiral. Lovingly preserved and dotted with charming colonial features and furniture, this sleek and sophisticated hotel offers high levels of comfort and excellent service and is within easy reach of a huge variety of activities.
There are 10 bedrooms and 2 suites, all very spacious and finely appointed with luxury furnishings, fittings and amenities. The rooms exude elegance and tranquillity and are a haven of peace and quiet. There are three room categories: Crayford Rooms, Captain Suites and Admiral Suites. Amenities common to all three categories include a rain shower, a separate bath, a king size bed with luxury bedding, minibar, an LED TV and a selection of complimentary toiletries.
Seafood delicacies, grilled classics and international dishes are served in the restaurant which operates on an ‘any time, any place’ system affording guests freedom in relation to preferred dining times and locations; meals are not only served in the restaurant, but also beside the pool or in the courtyard. There’s a fully stocked bar with a wide variety of drinks on offer, as well as a breezy, open air lounge area where teas are served. Other on-site facilities include the spa and the excellent pool, which is surrounded by lush greenery and has plenty of lounge chairs for anyone looking to unwind in the sunshine. On site activities include cookery demonstrations and private dining experiences and there’s a great deal to do nearby including cycling tours, kayaking trips, diving and snorkelling, whale watching (seasonal) and visits to nearby villages, tea plantations and the Kanneliya Rainforest. Not to mention, of course, the UNESCO world heritage site Galle Fort which is about 20 minutes away.
The hotel welcomes children who will love the pool and gardens, plus there is plenty for all age groups to do in the surrounding area.

I would like to say a massive thank you for organising our Vietnam trip. The itinerary and execution were superb, as was the attention to detail. I would also like to thank the agent who was on the end of my whats app chat (I have no idea who they were!) – always available, always quick to respond, and kept me updated regarding times etc. Also, the guides Dan (north) and Tien (mid) were just excellent, and we really enjoyed their company. The lady (whose name I have forgotten) who was our additional guide for the DMZ day was exceedingly good and made that day very special.
