EnquireSituated in the heart of Luang Prabang’s historic peninsula is Chang Inn, a unique and charming boutique guest house set in a French colonial bungalow that’s been standing for over 100 years. It’s full of history and charm and is certainly one of the more delightful properties in the area - it’s as much a part of the city’s heritage as the many nearby temples. Part of the Burasari chain, which has properties throughout Laos and Thailand, Chang Inn offers simple yet comfortable accommodation and great value for money.
There are just eight rooms at Chang Inn and each one of them has been lovingly designed with Indochinese decor. Guests can choose a Deluxe or Superior Room - both options offer wonderful views of the city’s bustling streets and sights of cultural interest. All guests receive a complimentary welcome drink on arrival and have use of a bicycle with which to explore the city’s many popular attractions and hidden gems. Amenities common to all rooms include air conditioning, a minibar, bathrobes and a satellite/cable TV. Rooms are handsomely decorated with rich wood-panel flooring and bespoke furnishings, and the property is dotted with heritage handicrafts.
Chang Inn is in a superb location for exploring the city and discovering its many sights and wonders, such as the night market, the Royal Palace and Wat Xiengthong, a lavish Buddhist temple with ornate shrines and lush gardens. As well as having more than its fair share of historical sights, the city has plenty of charming cafes and restaurants serving all kinds of local delicacies; there’s also a good number of shops selling local wares, trinkets and souvenirs. One of the city’s longest established traditions is the daily alms procession, a very sacred Buddhist tradition that starts as the sun rises; it passes right by the Chang Inn’s front door, giving guests the chance to observe this particularly special local ritual. There are also plenty of natural attractions to discover in and beyond the city, from the educational Elephant Village Sanctuary and the three-tiered Kuang Si Waterfall, to the spectacular Pak Ou Caves and Mount Phousi, which is centrally located and offers breathtaking city views.
The hotel doesn’t have much at all in the way of facilities, save for its welcoming on-site coffee shop. Children of all ages are welcome, although note that while there’s plenty for families to do in and around town, there are no designated children’s activities or babysitting service available on site.
We had an extraordinary time. It was magical and we couldn't hav asked or hoped for more. Thank you both so much for all of your time and assistance.

I would like to say a massive thank you for organising our Vietnam trip. The itinerary and execution were superb, as was the attention to detail. I would also like to thank the agent who was on the end of my whats app chat (I have no idea who they were!) – always available, always quick to respond, and kept me updated regarding times etc. Also, the guides Dan (north) and Tien (mid) were just excellent, and we really enjoyed their company. The lady (whose name I have forgotten) who was our additional guide for the DMZ day was exceedingly good and made that day very special.
