Overview

Angkor Village Resort is a holiday complex located between the thriving tourist hub of Siem Reap, and the Angkor temples and UNESCO World Heritage Site of Angkor Wat, in northwest Cambodia. The resort offers 84 rooms and suites, and facilities including two restaurants, a piano bar, a spa, a boutique, and an impressive pool which meanders through the tropical gardens. It is a good mid-range option for travellers seeking a peaceful stay away from the crowds.

Communal areas include a lounge bar with a grand piano, and two restaurants. ‘Aaraama’ has lovely garden views, and serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner, with a focus on Cambodian, Thai, and Vietnamese cuisine. ‘Le Jardin’ offers an international menu and opens evenings only. There is a gym and a gift shop on site, plus a theatre which hosts cultural evenings, and a tranquil spa. Winding throughout the extensive gardens is a 270 metre long pool, complete with a floating drinks service.

Activities include swimming, spa treatments and massages, and traditional Khmer music and dance displays at the onsite ‘Aspara’ theatre. The famed Angkor temple complex, home to Angkor Wat and the atmospheric temple of Bayon, is just a short tuk-tuk ride away, and it only takes a few minutes by car to reach the stilt village of Kompong Phluk, or Siem Reap with its numerous eateries and markets.

Accommodation comprises 84 suites spaced out within the leafy grounds. Suites vary in size from doubles and twins with four poster beds, to larger units with a separate living area, and a number of very spacious two bedroom units. All have an ensuite bathroom with shower, and some have a separate bathtub. All suites have air conditioning, satellite TV, and a private balcony or veranda overlooking the tranquil gardens. Note that Wi-Fi is not available in the rooms.

Families are extremely welcome at the resort, and the generous gardens and pool will delight guests of all ages. The two bedroom suites are spacious and ideal for families, with a king size bed in one room and twin beds in the second, a separate living area and private veranda overlooking the pool.

  • We had an amazing experience - absolutely loved it.
Mohamed and Said were great and very patient especially with me going downhill - was quite nervous about the scree slopes and paths.

Will be a trip we remember forever

  • I would like to say a massive thank you for organising our Vietnam trip. The itinerary and execution were superb, as was the attention to detail. I would also like to thank the agent who was on the end of my whats app chat (I have no idea who they were!) – always available, always quick to respond, and kept me updated regarding times etc. Also, the guides Dan (north) and Tien (mid) were just excellent, and we really enjoyed their company. The lady (whose name I have forgotten) who was our additional guide for the DMZ day was exceedingly good and made that day very special.
