DAY 2: ON SAFARI
A typical day on safari generally starts with an early morning rise for a game drive to see the animals at their most active. You then have plenty of time to relax at the lodge in the middle of the day before heading out again in the late afternoon for a game drive and sundowner. The exact itinerary depends on the time of year and the weather, and will be coordinated with your guide upon arrival. Hluhluwe and the surrounding reserves are home to Africa’s Big Five: elephant, rhinoceros, Cape buffalo, lion, and leopard, in addition to extensive bird and antelope species. What you see on each drive is unpredictable and it’s this variability that makes each sighting a thrilling adventure.

This holiday works year round. November to April are the hottest months in both KwaZulu Natal and Mauritius. June to September are winter in both locations, however with a sub tropical climate it is usually warm, sunny and dry with average high temperatures in the low 20s C in Durban and mid 20s C in Mauritius. If travelling in the winter months (June to September) it is best to stay on the West and North West Coasts of Mauritius to avoid the trade winds.
This is an excellent value, year-round itinerary ideal for families looking for an affordable but luxurious safari and beach holiday.

Can't praise tour dust enough, they helped us to create a holiday of a lifetime that has given us family memories we will treasure forever. From start to finish the whole experience was exactly what we wanted and more. Due to covid we waited 2 and a half years for this trip but worth the wait.

Thank you, we had an absolute wonderful time, and everything was well-planned and as described. Carla was crying on the day of our departure from Ants Nest, she didn’t want to go home and for it all to end, and when I asked how much longer she would want to stay, she responded “four weeks”

It was certainly a holiday of a lifetime for us and we loved every minute!! The standard and location of each accommodation was excellent, as was the variety of each different accommodation type. Our schedule was perfect and we managed to achieve everything on our to-do task list. Your documents were also really helpful, as were the driving directions. We all thank you for making this such a wonderful holiday. Happy to leave a review publicly if you point me the right way. Best Steve
