Most people find that after a few nights in Marrakech, they are ready to escape the hustle and bustle for something calmer. The Palmery, located just outside of Marrakech, is the perfect solution. With spacious boutique hotels and a large water park for those wanting to cool off, it is the perfect place to sit back, swim and enjoy the sunshine. Our favourite hotel is the Beldi Country Club which offers sophistication, but is also child friendly. Set in extensive gardens, there are three pools (one heated for winter visitors) a tennis court and pottery classes for children, as well as that all important spa.
No trip to Marrakech is complete without a visit to the stunning Atlas Mountains. You will be left to your own devices in the palmery for the entirety of your stay with the exception of one day when we will whisk you up to the pretty mountain village of Imlil. From here and depending on your fitness levels, we will take you for a guided walk, providing an extra mule and riding hat for the children. Along the way, we will serve you a delicious Berber picnic.
DAY 1: ARRIVAL MARRAKECH MEDINA
You will be met at Marrakech Airport and transferred to your riad in the medina of Marrakech. Once you have settled into your riad, we suggest you set off and explore Marrakech's medina. In the evening, be sure to head down to the main square here food stalls, acrobats, snake charmers and story tellers congregate creating an unforgettable atmosphere.
Meals Included: No Meals Included
Accommodation: Riad Wo or Dar Hanane
Transport: Private Transfer 15 mins
DAY 2: MARRAKECH MEDINA
Today we recommend seeing some of the main cultural sights of Marrakech, including the Medersa Ben Youssef, Palais el Badi and the Bahia Palace, interspersed with a leisurely lunch watching the storks nesting on the ramparts of the ancient city or perhaps some people watching at a cafe in the Spice market. In the evening, you might want to enjoy dinner in one of the restaurants over-looking the main square, or perhaps ask your host to book you a table at the atmospheric Foundouk restaurant, serving up delicious French & Moroccan fusion food.
Meals Included: Breakfast only included
Accommodation: Riad Wo or Dar Hanane
DAY 3: MARRAKECH MEDINA
Today you might want to catch a petit taxi out to the Majorelle Gardens, designed by Yves Saint Laurent. The gardens are beautifully laid out and offer a welcome respite to the chaos of the medina. (There is also a lovely cafe there) In the afternoon, you might want to take it easy and see the ramparts from the comfort of a caleche (horse and cart.) In the evening, you might want to go back to the Djemaa el Fna, or perhaps head to the new town for some more Western cuisine.
Meals Included: Breakfast only included
Accommodation: Riad Wo or Dar Hanane
DAY 4: TRANSFER TO MARRAKECH PALMERAIE
It is a short transfer out of the City to the calm of the Marrakech Palmeraie where you will be staying at a luxury garden hotel with fantastic facilities - the perfect location to sit back and relax. Beldi has multiple swimming pools, tennis courts, pottery classes and of course a superb spa for grown-ups.
Meals Included: Breakfast only included
Accommodation: Beldi Country Club

DAY 5: DAY TOUR OUT TO THE ATLAS MOUNTAINS
You will be met at you hotel and transferred out to the High Atlas Mountains for a private guided tour. After speaking with you he will suggest a walking route, based on your requirements and fitness levels. This can vary from a nice and gentle through the traditional villages, to a more challenging walk up to a pass for stunning views. We lay on a cook so you can have a lovely traditional cooked Berber picnic lunch on the trail and of course an extra mule which children can ride if they don't fancy walking. Return to the Marrakech Palmeraie in the early evening.

We advise that flights will usually cost from around £200 per person during summer holidays. Prices tend to rise above £300pp if booking for a school holiday period and leaving it late.
This trip is best in spring, autumn and winter. In the winter months in Marrakech, you can expect warm sunny days, but cooler evenings (you'll need a jumper). Spring and autumn are perfect with temperatures around 20 to 30 degrees Celsius and (usually) lots of sunshine.
Summer time temperatures in Marrakech can reach the mid 40's. The riad style accommodation is well set up to deal with the heat (with cool central courtyards and plenty of shade) but is probably only advisable to those who don't mind the heat. At this time of year, we only usually recommend riads that are equipped with a plunge pool or swimming pool of some sort (few riads have decent sized pools because of their architecture).

Kate B reviewing Morocco Family Holiday: Kasbahs, Mountains & Souks on 10 January 2024
We had a fantastic time. Thank you for all your help, advice and guidance in organising our holiday. As this was not our first booking with Tourdust we were confident that all our transfers would work perfectly and they did - everything ran so smoothly! The riad in Marrakesh was stunning - a truly beautiful oasis of calm in such a busy, bustling city. As you can imagine, we were very grateful for the air conditioning in our room as outside was so hot! I was nervous about walking through the souks at night, but as they were well lit we felt perfectly safe and found our confidence grew in navigating the journey home each time we ventured out. When we arrived at our lodge in the Atlas Mountains we were blown away by the scenery. The views were amazing and the beautiful lodge gardens were the perfect place to sit and relax before taking a dip in the pool. Our day trek was truly amazing - no small thanks to our guide Rashid, who was so helpful and knowledgable. The lunch in the traditional Berber village was delicious and we were were made to feel so welcome. The home owner showed us how to make bread and then cooked it for us in her traditional clay oven. This was a memory we will never forget as we stood surrounded by her chickens and goats watching her use her bare hands to prepare the fire! Our night in the desert was breathtaking. The camel ride at sunset was so incredible and the quad biking the next morning was brilliant fun. I am so glad we added in these extras as they really made the experience! We finally made it to our hotel at the coast, where the surf lessons were a hit and the hotel was a great place to relax and read! Thank you again for all your help. We would definitely recommend Tourdust to all our friends and family. Tanya

Hi Lisa and everyone at Tourdust,
We've had a wonderful time on our holiday and wanted to pass our appreciation to you. Everything has been expertly planned and executed, allowing us to enjoy the holiday to its fullest. Special appreciation to Muhammed, Ibrahim, and Omar, our Atlas guide, cook, and muleteer, who couldn't have done more for us and were just generally wonderful and hardworking. Riad Hanane is a perfect base in Marrakech to complement the trekking as it's ina less touristy area of the medina, which we appreciated. The staff and accomodation was superb.Thank you again for a trip to remember!
