This holiday combines two of the very best places that South Africa has to offer; Cape Town & Kruger. Having tried and tested these experiences with our own children, we are confident that we can offer the perfect holiday tailored to your family's requirements.
Your holiday begins in Cape Town where you will spend a few days getting to know the best that this lively and diverse city has to offer. Kicking off your stay, you will have a guided cycle tour of Cape Town city and private guided Table Mountain Hike, for some fantastic views of the city and ocean. Your next day is spend exploring the Cape Point where the Atlantic & Indian Oceans meet, with the opportunity to swim with penguins and an optional visit to a local township. Your last day in the Cape is spent with a local passionate foodie, who will take you on a family friendly tour of some of the regions finest wineries.
Leaving the Cape behind you, you will then fly up to the Kruger area to spend the next half of your holiday on safari. DAY 3: CAPE TOWN
Today will be a guided Table Mountain Hike. There is no better place to get a sense of Cape Town than from atop Table mountain amidst the lush Fynbos, indigenous to the region. Most tourists venture no more than 5 minutes from the Cableway, however we recommend getting away from the crowds on a gentle guided walk. Today, your mountain guide will meet you at your hotel and drive you to the Cableway station where you will head up Table Mountain in the aerial cableway. Once on top you can get away from the crowds on a gentle circular walk on the plateau to Maclears Beacon, the highest point on Table Mountain. The trail passes stunning viewpoints and marsh and fynbos bush. It is around a 2 hour walk in total. For more adventurous, we will arrange a more challenging trek climbing the Mountain via Skeleton Gorge or from the Twelve Apostles (around 6hours) and taking the Cableway down.

Flying into Cape Town and out of Johannesburg, South African Airlines usually has the best fares from £1100 per person during school holiday periods, this does involve stopping in Johannesburg both ways. BA offers the same route, albeit usually a little more expensive but with the option of a direct flight to Cape Town on the way out.
Flight prices on this route are always cheaper booked in advance, particularly when flying during UK school holidays. If you are booking anything less than a month prior to departure expect to pay through the nose. Virgin and BA tend to offer flight sales around September and October, which are worth looking out for.
Please let us know your preferred departure airport and we would be pleased to quote for a flight inclusive ATOL protected package.

Just a quick note to say a huge thank you for a fantastic holiday in South Africa. We had an amazing time with tears at the airport as home came far too early!
Cape Town was amazing, so much to do and the accommodation at the V&A was a great starting option. Loved the Penguins at Boulders and the day we spent driving down to Caper of Good Hope was special. We loved the Auberge at Hermanus, and although no boats trips due to weather there were plenty of whales in the bay to see from land – and the hotel balcony! Also took a tour of the local township – Willy the guide was so helpful and his knowledge and information was a real eye-opener.
Cheetah Plains – well, what can I say? What a fantastic time we had during our 4 night stay. The way we were looked after was superb, and we could not have hoped for a better Safari experience, seeing the animals so close!! Cheetah Plains is a special place with a unique atmosphere and staff who make it really enjoyable and comfortable – felt like home!
Oliver’s had superb accommodation and food. The panorama tour was full-on and very enjoyable with a final day to relax at the poolside. Probably in hindsight I would have had 5 nights at Cheetah Plains (every game drive is different!) and just 2 at Olivers, although the rest of the family enjoyed doing nothing on the final day. Also a word about the drivers – an amazing source of information about South Africa. Amazingly courteous, helpful and friendly – hugely complementary about these guys!
Thank you for helping organise this trip – hugely memorable holiday. We miss South Africa already and we feel like we left behind the most magical time. We will never forget and really hope to return.

Thank you, we had an absolute wonderful time, and everything was well-planned and as described. Carla was crying on the day of our departure from Ants Nest, she didn’t want to go home and for it all to end, and when I asked how much longer she would want to stay, she responded “four weeks”

It was certainly a holiday of a lifetime for us and we loved every minute!! The standard and location of each accommodation was excellent, as was the variety of each different accommodation type. Our schedule was perfect and we managed to achieve everything on our to-do task list. Your documents were also really helpful, as were the driving directions. We all thank you for making this such a wonderful holiday. Happy to leave a review publicly if you point me the right way. Best Steve
