EnquirePafuri Walking Trails is a game walk-specific experience for guests who want to explore some of the Kruger’s remotest spots on-foot and up-close to untamed Africa. It covers what is regarded as the best walking area in the Kruger National Park, the Makuleke Concession, or Pafuri.
The Pafuri Walking Trails are open from April to October every year. These walks are led by field guides who have experience exploring the varied and wild plains, through which they will navigate guests. It is the little things that guests will notice on their walks; things that simply cannot be given the time or attention during a game drive. There are also plenty of big things guests will no doubt come across, such as Big Five game, which is sure to raise the heartbeat.
Home base is at the seasonal bush camp, Pafuri Camp. It is known for its regular sightings of leopard and lion due to its location overlooking the Luvuvhu River, which guests can observe from the comfort of their own tents. A healthy population of buffalo also inhabits the area, and it is not uncommon for herds of elephant to stroll past the camp during dry seasons. The walking trails accommodate a maximum of 8 guests, and each day is spent covering different areas of the surrounding wilderness.
A real highlight of the walks is Crook’s Corner, where the Luvuvhu and Limpopo rivers meet, and the Luvuvhu fever tree forest. For the more adventurous guests, a minimalist trail is also on offer, with which guests camp out under the stars or across the border in the transfrontier Park.
Certainly for true bush-lovers, this is a unique opportunity to experience the Kruger wilderness first-hand (or foot!).
Thank you, we had an absolute wonderful time, and everything was well-planned and as described. Carla was crying on the day of our departure from Ants Nest, she didn’t want to go home and for it all to end, and when I asked how much longer she would want to stay, she responded “four weeks”

It was certainly a holiday of a lifetime for us and we loved every minute!! The standard and location of each accommodation was excellent, as was the variety of each different accommodation type. Our schedule was perfect and we managed to achieve everything on our to-do task list. Your documents were also really helpful, as were the driving directions. We all thank you for making this such a wonderful holiday. Happy to leave a review publicly if you point me the right way. Best Steve

Hi Lisa, We had a fabulous time thank you. The accommodation and other ideation were all terrific - that’s so much for your help. The apartment in Cape Town was particularly good - we would never have found that: Boschendal was great as well and game lodge was superb. Thanks again, Alistair
