EnquireVilla Afrikana Guest Suites is a contemporary property found perched on a serene hilltop in the heart of South Africa’s Garden Route, with picturesque and unobstructed views stretching out across the vibrant neighbourhoods of Knysna, the Knysna Head mountaintops, and the crystal clear Knysna Lagoon. The property has a charming swimming pool and lies within walking distance of the town centre, the Lagoon, and the cruise terminal for visits to the Featherbed Nature Reserve.
The accommodation comprises six spacious suites, plus the Owner’s Suite, all with panoramic views of the Knysna Head, Lagoon, and the nearby village. All suites are luxuriously large and feature an en-suite bathroom with underfloor heating, satellite TV, a DVD library, and an extra-length, king-size double bed, and those on the first floor have private balconies. Most of the suites accommodate a maximum of two adults – however, there is one suite that can accommodate two to four adults in separate connecting rooms.
The nearest attractions are the village of Knysna, the Lagoon, and the Knysna Heads which guard the entrance to the Lagoon from the ocean. Cruises which pass through the Heads are a delight and participants can enjoy champagne and oysters while admiring the lovely views. Depending on the time of year, whales can sometimes be spotted in the distance. There are some relatively shallow waters in the Lagoon where children or less confident swimmers can comfortably take a dip and there’s plenty of seating dotted around for those who prefer to sit and soak up the beautiful surroundings. Four hour excursions to the privately-owned Featherbed Nature Reserve, accessed only by ferry, are also on offer. The trip includes a 2km trail which goes through Milkwood forests and along the sandstone cliffs to the sea caves to reveal spectacular views. Finally, there are plenty of craft shops, flea markets and historical sights in Knysna town itself, and history enthusiasts can spend a few hours exploring the historical Sawmill and Timber Factory.
Children are welcome, although given the property’s mature, adult feel, it’s best for children aged 12 and above. Note that unfortunately, due to the uneven terrain on the hillside, Villa Afrikana is not suitable for physically challenged guests.
Thank you, we had an absolute wonderful time, and everything was well-planned and as described. Carla was crying on the day of our departure from Ants Nest, she didn’t want to go home and for it all to end, and when I asked how much longer she would want to stay, she responded “four weeks”

It was certainly a holiday of a lifetime for us and we loved every minute!! The standard and location of each accommodation was excellent, as was the variety of each different accommodation type. Our schedule was perfect and we managed to achieve everything on our to-do task list. Your documents were also really helpful, as were the driving directions. We all thank you for making this such a wonderful holiday. Happy to leave a review publicly if you point me the right way. Best Steve

Hi Lisa, We had a fabulous time thank you. The accommodation and other ideation were all terrific - that’s so much for your help. The apartment in Cape Town was particularly good - we would never have found that: Boschendal was great as well and game lodge was superb. Thanks again, Alistair
