EnquireThe Notary’s House is a wonderful boutique property which bordering a small lake in the quiet village of Pannala, about 40 minutes from Sri Lanka's international airport. This is a a spacious boutique hotel that is ideal if you are looking for a quiet spot to recover from a long flight.
The architecture carefully blends contemporary external styling with traditional Sri Lankan interiors featuring antique furniture and collectables. Accommodation consists of six comfortable rooms. Each room is uniquely furnished and has either balcony or terrace. Rooms are air-conditioned with high ceilings and fans. Each ensuite bathroom is fairly large and is equipped with h/w shower and granite sink top. There is excellent Wi-Fi throughout the property.
There are 3 Standard rooms, two of which are doubles and the remaining one, a twin-bedded space. All three rooms have a private balcony overlooking the garden. The 3 Deluxe rooms are spacious and can hold an extra single bed as well as a baby cot. One Deluxe room interconnects with a Standard twin room which works well for a family.
In addition to relaxing by the pool, the Notary’s House is a great base for plenty of walking and exploring. There is a 7.5 km cycling route which allows you to enjoy the nature and also do a spot of bird watching. Alternatively you can also take a tuk ride along the same trail. Kids are encouraged to join in as they even have bicycles for 4-year-olds and up. Children are also welcome to play cricket, rugby or tennis on the expansive lawn. The Notary’s House can also arrange cooking experiences on request.
Sri Lankan curry is the evening dish of choice but the chef is able to cater to Western cuisine preferences or local, based on client requests.

We had an amazing experience - absolutely loved it.
Mohamed and Said were great and very patient especially with me going downhill - was quite nervous about the scree slopes and paths. Will be a trip we remember forever

I would like to say a massive thank you for organising our Vietnam trip. The itinerary and execution were superb, as was the attention to detail. I would also like to thank the agent who was on the end of my whats app chat (I have no idea who they were!) – always available, always quick to respond, and kept me updated regarding times etc. Also, the guides Dan (north) and Tien (mid) were just excellent, and we really enjoyed their company. The lady (whose name I have forgotten) who was our additional guide for the DMZ day was exceedingly good and made that day very special.
