Overview

Kings Pavilion is a luxury boutique hotel conveniently located less than a mile from Kandy’s city centre. This property is a real gem set in a particularly picturesque area surrounded by towering mountains covered in lush, unspoiled greenery. The hotel has a calm, relaxed yet sophisticated atmosphere within easy reach of Kandy’s many attractions.

There are three levels of accommodation: Standard Rooms, Suites and Junior Suites. All rooms have a chic, contemporary feel and offer generous amounts of space. Large windows allow plenty of natural light and afford scenic views of the beautiful surrounding landscapes. Ground floor rooms have their own private garden, while those up on the first floor have a balcony. Amenities available in most of the rooms include complimentary fresh fruit, tea and coffee making facilities, an LED TV with satellite channels and a minibar. All rooms come with air conditioning and are immaculately presented.

The hotel has a good number of facilities for guests to make use of when not out exploring Kandy. There’s a stunning pool perched at the edge of a hillside, offering spectacular views. There’s also a spa and sauna, with a broad range of treatments on offer. The restaurant, which is open for three meals a day, serves traditional Sri Lankan delicacies, as well as a number of popular international dishes.

Guests are well placed for exploring the intriguing city of Kandy. Centrally located in the mountainous centre of Sri Lanka, it’s widely regarded as the country’s cultural capital; it’s also the second largest city in the country. One of the stand-out attractions is the Temple of the Tooth, an elaborate Buddhist temple considered to be one of the holiest sites in the whole country. There’s also the National Museum, which has an array of exhibits on the country’s rich history and culture, the Kandy Centre Mall with its variety of shopping opportunities, and Kandy Lake which lies at the heart of the city and is the ideal spot for a leisurely stroll.

Children of all ages are welcome to stay at the hotel, though it does have a somewhat adult feel. Parents are reminded that children should remain under adult supervision at all times.

  • We had an amazing experience - absolutely loved it.
Mohamed and Said were great and very patient especially with me going downhill - was quite nervous about the scree slopes and paths.

Will be a trip we remember forever

  • I would like to say a massive thank you for organising our Vietnam trip. The itinerary and execution were superb, as was the attention to detail. I would also like to thank the agent who was on the end of my whats app chat (I have no idea who they were!) – always available, always quick to respond, and kept me updated regarding times etc. Also, the guides Dan (north) and Tien (mid) were just excellent, and we really enjoyed their company. The lady (whose name I have forgotten) who was our additional guide for the DMZ day was exceedingly good and made that day very special.
