EnquireSouth Africa’s Sabi Sands Game Reserve is home to around two dozen different camps and lodges, and Dulini Leadwood Lodge, part of the luxurious Dulini portfolio, offers one of the higher-end accommodation options in the reserve. It’s an intimate property with an exclusive feel, designed to offer top notch comfort and hospitality, and offering a range of excellent nature-based activities for those looking to explore the reserve and discover its diverse wildlife.
With just four two-person suites, the lodge is one of the smallest to be found in the reserve. All suites have a sophisticated, stylish and contemporary feel and are exceptionally light and airy, with large windows and expansive private decks offering captivating views of the Sand River and the nearby area – on occasion, some of the local wildlife can be spotted from the suites. The emphasis here is on privacy and comfort, and all suites come with their own private plunge pool and fireplace.
The Sabi Sands Game Reserve spans some 65,000 hectares and partly borders the Kruger National Park. Interestingly, there’s no fence border demarcating the end of one and the beginning of the other. As such, animals are free to roam between the two, vastly improving the biodiversity of both protected areas. Private, exclusive game drives organised by the lodge’s professional and friendly expert guides cover nearly a sixth of the reserve and offer premium wildlife viewing experiences. The guides have spent many a year honing their skills at tracking down rarely seen animals and are always willing to share their vast knowledge of the reserve with visitors. Game drives depart from the lodge at various times of the day, with optional bush walks also available.
There’s a sizeable on-site swimming pool, as well as an open-air dining area where the day’s three meals are served. There’s also the option for ‘boma’ dining when evening meals are served in an enclosed area out in the open underneath the stars.
Children are very welcome to stay here. However, those under the age of six are unable to participate in the game drives. That said, staff at the lodge can arrange for a babysitter to watch young children while parents go out on a game drive or have dinner. While it’s rare for animals to approach humans or accommodation, parents are reminded to keep their children under constant adult supervision.
Thank you, we had an absolute wonderful time, and everything was well-planned and as described. Carla was crying on the day of our departure from Ants Nest, she didn’t want to go home and for it all to end, and when I asked how much longer she would want to stay, she responded “four weeks”

It was certainly a holiday of a lifetime for us and we loved every minute!! The standard and location of each accommodation was excellent, as was the variety of each different accommodation type. Our schedule was perfect and we managed to achieve everything on our to-do task list. Your documents were also really helpful, as were the driving directions. We all thank you for making this such a wonderful holiday. Happy to leave a review publicly if you point me the right way. Best Steve

Hi Lisa, We had a fabulous time thank you. The accommodation and other ideation were all terrific - that’s so much for your help. The apartment in Cape Town was particularly good - we would never have found that: Boschendal was great as well and game lodge was superb. Thanks again, Alistair
