EnquireSibuya Forest Camp is a eco-friendly riverside camp set in the private Sibuya Game Reserve. While the reserve is relatively small, what makes it stand out from others is its particular abundance of navigable rivers. The Big Five - rhinoceros, lion, leopard, elephant and Cape buffalo - can be spotted here, along with an array of colourful bird species. Forest Camp is one of three accommodation options in the reserve and is found in a lovely riverside setting within a dense and well-preserved indigenous forest, accessed via a relaxing boat ride up the Kariega River from Kenton-on-Sea. There’s a communal dining area where three meals a day are served, and dinner is often enjoyed around a crackling campfire.
The accommodation consists of eight luxury en-suite safari tents interconnected by a series of wooden walkways. Each tent is relatively secluded, offering plenty of peace and quiet. There are king size beds complete with luxury bedding, along with large fireplaces in the living areas for the cooler months. Guests are encouraged to forego technology and ‘switch off’ from the daily grind. As such, there is no Wi-Fi and no televisions are available. In keeping with the lodge’s eco-friendly approach, it’s run entirely on solar power.
While staying here, guests have a number of thrilling nature-based activities to choose from. Schedules are deliberately kept quite moderate, in order to make plenty of time for relaxing back at the lodge. Game drives, birdwatching expeditions, river cruises, fishing trips, swimming and canoeing are all on offer and there are several optional extras available at additional cost, such as horseback riding on a nearby beach, picnics by the sea and massages.
Children of 12 years of age and older are welcome at Forest Camp, and four of the tents have sleeper couches that are big enough to accommodate teenagers. While it’s rare for animals to approach humans or tents, parents are reminded that children of all ages should remain under constant adult supervision.
Thank you, we had an absolute wonderful time, and everything was well-planned and as described. Carla was crying on the day of our departure from Ants Nest, she didn’t want to go home and for it all to end, and when I asked how much longer she would want to stay, she responded “four weeks”

It was certainly a holiday of a lifetime for us and we loved every minute!! The standard and location of each accommodation was excellent, as was the variety of each different accommodation type. Our schedule was perfect and we managed to achieve everything on our to-do task list. Your documents were also really helpful, as were the driving directions. We all thank you for making this such a wonderful holiday. Happy to leave a review publicly if you point me the right way. Best Steve

Hi Lisa, We had a fabulous time thank you. The accommodation and other ideation were all terrific - that’s so much for your help. The apartment in Cape Town was particularly good - we would never have found that: Boschendal was great as well and game lodge was superb. Thanks again, Alistair
