- Back to Croatia holidays
Cavtat is a nice base from which to explore Dubrovnik. It is very close to the airport and a historic picturesque harbour town in its own right. Regular ferries run to Dubrovnik old town from Cavtat. There are a wealth of private apartment options in addition to our recommended hotels:
Villa Pattiera is a small boutique hotel that comes with a strong reputation. Set right in the heart of town, spacious, airy rooms evoke the traditional heritage of the building which was once the home of Croatia’s most famous opera singer. Villa Pattiera manages to combine play to its heritage without becoming too traditional or fussy. Most rooms enjoy balconies or terraces with views either over the street / sea or garden behind the building. Many guests speak highly of the service. The hotel is run by a local family who have owned the building for 30 years.
Villa Castellata is a clean, simply furnished mid-range option in Cavtat. Rooms are spacious, minimally furnished with en-suite and air-conditioning. Most enjoy small balconies or terraces. There is a small pool in the terrace and an inviting breezy lounge with a small library, TV and computer facilities. The only drawback is the slightly suburban setting a steep 5 minute walk up from the Cavtat harbour front. Despite that Villa Castellata is a good value safe bet in Cavtat.
